EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) was initially developed in the 1980’s to treat PTSD but has since been popularized and adapted to treat other conditions and concerns. EMDR uses eye-movements, or another type of bilateral stimulation, to reprocess negative events, images, core beliefs, emotions, body sensations, etc.
brainspotting
Similar to EMDR, Brainspotting is an alternative type of therapy, however it utilizes fixed eye positions to facilitate processing of trauma and other stressful events. These types of therapies facilitate a mind-body connection, allowing for more deeper processing and change to occur.
